Heliotrope, My Friend Your Hair Is.

Monday I got a text message from one of my bestfriends Sherri asking me if I'm still in town because her and hubs Max will be. Sherri along with sisters Chauntelle, Stacy, brother Weston and cousin Garron, all last named DuPree are in a fantabulous band called Eisley. Her husband Max fronts another stellar band Say Anything. (click on the fancy colored letters to take you to their websites.) Beautiful souls really do attract each other.

I have been having really bad crippling anxiety attacks about our trip (which started from the airline messing our itineraries up) so Sherri being in town means I can go see her and take my mind off of worrying. It really did a world of good, so much good. I woke up today feeling light and airy and ready to enjoy our trip.

Sherri played her set of a few Eisley songs, hearing her without the band was kind of surreal and lonely for me because I miss Chaunty and Stackers. Sherri wasn't feeling good but like a trooper, she went in and made a lot of Eisley fans' night. She's funny on stage too, very candid. She communicates well with the audience which is a novelty for me who was schooled in shoegazer bands.

Sherri was joined by hubs Max ^_^ They're truly an amazing couple. Truly is also the name of their beloved Boxer.

Max's set was very enthralling. Everyone in the audience sang, knew every lyrics to all the songs. I love how everyone is just gazing up at Max and trying to capture every single second. To most of them here, he's a personal god. He wrote the soundtrack of their lives.

The Husbands: Thad and Max for a pre-show tequila shot.
Thad looks like V here from Vendetta. I'm pretty sure he appreciates that.

It was a short visit, we still got to hang out, chit-chat, gossiped and what-not. It doesn't feel like I haven't seen Sherri in almost a year because we always keep in touch but then, you never know how much you miss someone till you see them again. ^_^

Gingerbread House Afternoon

Last Friday, the girls at work took me to lunch to celebrate my sort of last day at work before I go back to Philippines for our Christmas vacation. My official last day is actually tomorrow but everything tastes better on a Friday :-D

After we got back, I went to my desk, and tried to finish a Photoshop project when I got called to the Product Design Room (where we hold our design meetings) for a meeting. To my wonderful surprise the girls set up a Gingerbread Bread House making table!!!
