Heliotrope, My Friend Your Hair Is.

Monday I got a text message from one of my bestfriends Sherri asking me if I'm still in town because her and hubs Max will be. Sherri along with sisters Chauntelle, Stacy, brother Weston and cousin Garron, all last named DuPree are in a fantabulous band called Eisley. Her husband Max fronts another stellar band Say Anything. (click on the fancy colored letters to take you to their websites.) Beautiful souls really do attract each other.

I have been having really bad crippling anxiety attacks about our trip (which started from the airline messing our itineraries up) so Sherri being in town means I can go see her and take my mind off of worrying. It really did a world of good, so much good. I woke up today feeling light and airy and ready to enjoy our trip.

Sherri played her set of a few Eisley songs, hearing her without the band was kind of surreal and lonely for me because I miss Chaunty and Stackers. Sherri wasn't feeling good but like a trooper, she went in and made a lot of Eisley fans' night. She's funny on stage too, very candid. She communicates well with the audience which is a novelty for me who was schooled in shoegazer bands.

Sherri was joined by hubs Max ^_^ They're truly an amazing couple. Truly is also the name of their beloved Boxer.

Max's set was very enthralling. Everyone in the audience sang, knew every lyrics to all the songs. I love how everyone is just gazing up at Max and trying to capture every single second. To most of them here, he's a personal god. He wrote the soundtrack of their lives.

The Husbands: Thad and Max for a pre-show tequila shot.
Thad looks like V here from Vendetta. I'm pretty sure he appreciates that.

It was a short visit, we still got to hang out, chit-chat, gossiped and what-not. It doesn't feel like I haven't seen Sherri in almost a year because we always keep in touch but then, you never know how much you miss someone till you see them again. ^_^

Putting Myself in Kayla's Shoes

Sag Harbor Classics Striped Sweater.C-Pink Jeans $25. Black Chucks hand me down from Kayla DuPree

Literally. Kayla is my friend's Chauntelle DuPree's little girl who is also my friend Sherri's niece. Kayla is probably one of the coolest, lovable little girl I know. She comes by it honestly coming from a family of musicians and artists. The very first time I met her was on my first trip to Tyler, Texas for Sherri's wedding, she handed me two of her chucks, black and pink after one quick look at my elfin feet. I've been wearing them all through that summer. I fondly call them my Kayla shoes.

Taken at the DuPree's second home, Starbucks. Here I am flanked by Kayla and Sherri looking like a cute Russian peasant about to ply her fresh lemons. Actually, I gave the lemons to her to give to her momma.

Enamel Heart Necklace Gadzooks $5. Claire's Elastic Bead Bracelets

This sweater reminds me of Bert, Ernie's long suffering roomate in Sesame Street. I love this sweater so much! It's so comfortable and the colors make me happy.

Mulder and Skully

Ralph Lauren Cardigan (it's not frugal price) Arizona White Button Down Shirt $5 Libertine Cardigan $22 Karen Jeans $25 Green Shoes Target $19 Black socks that you can get anywhere.
Thought I'd go preppy today. The socks are a must because it is cold. I've been lusting over the skullicious vest when Target had Libertine design for them for their GO Designer Line. I missed it because I kept putting it off but found it once again on ebay. Ebay can work out for me sometimes. I only hate it when someone snipes me. I'm not telling you how much the Ralph Lauren cardigan is because it goes against my imposed frugality.

Oh and Happy Birthday to my dear ol' squid, Sherri DuPree Bemis. Check her along with sissies Chauntelle, Stacy, bro Weston and cousin Garron, band Eisley . This is a photo she sent to me as one of my birthday pressies. It now graces my shelf. I love you, chikadee! Keep rockin and rollin' and ho'in...Heh. I keed, I keed.
